  • No Homework…Beneficial?
  • Dispelling the Myth
  • What are the pros and cons of homework? Is it beneficial? From dioramas to book reports, and algebraic word problems to research projects. It is beneficial. If you don't turn in your homework you get bad grade's and you get to use your brain and you won't be bad at math expand knowledge and learn. A certain amount of homework is beneficial for students. In particular, math homework can help students better understand the concepts trying to be taught.

    beneficial homework

Low levels of play are associated with lower academic achievement levels, lower safety awareness, less character development, and lower overall health. It encourages a sedentary lifestyle. Long homework assignments require long periods of sitting. A sedentary lifestyle has numerous direct associations with premature death as children age into adults. Obesity levels are already at or near record highs in many communities. Homework may reinforce certain skills and encourage knowledge retention, but it may come at a high price.

Not every home is a beneficial environment. There are some homes that are highly invested into their children. Parents may be involved in every stage of homework or there may be access to tutors that can explain difficult concepts. In other homes, there may be little or no education investment into the child. Some parents push the responsibility of teaching off on the teacher and provide no homework support at all. Sometimes parents may wish to be involved and support their child, but there are barriers in place that prevent this from happening.

The bottom line is this: School is already a full-time job for kids. An elementary school day might start at 9: Add in the extra-curricular activities that schools encourage, such as sports, musicals, and after-school programming and a student can easily reach 8 hours of education in the average day. Then add homework on top of that?

It is asking a lot for any child, but especially young children, to complete extra homework. There is no evidence that homework creates improvements. Survey after survey has found that the only thing that homework does is create a negative attitude toward schooling and education in general.

Homework is not associated with a higher level of academic achievement on a national scale. It may help some students who struggle with certain subjects, if they have access to a knowledgeable tutor or parent, but on a community level, there is no evidence that shows improvements are gained. It discourages creative endeavors. Students might like to play video games or watch TV, but homework takes time away from learning an instrument, painting, or developing photography skills as well.

Homework is difficult to enforce. They can achieve adequate grades without doing it, so they choose not to do it. There is no level of motivation that a parent or teacher can create that inspires some students to get involved with homework. There is no denying the fact that homework requires a certain amount of effort. Extra time in school does not equate to better grades. Students in the US spend more than hours of extra time in school already compared to high-performing countries around the world, but that has not closed the educational gap between those countries and the United States.

In some educational areas, the US is even falling in global rankings despite the extra time that students are spending in school. When it comes to homework or any other form of learning, quality is much more important than quantity. Accurate practice may not be possible. If homework is assigned, there is a reliance on the student, their parents, or their guardians to locate resources that can help them understand the content.

Homework is often about practice, but if the core concepts of that information are not understood or inaccurately understood, then the results are the opposite of what is intended. If inaccurate practice is performed, it becomes necessary for the teacher to first correct the issue and then reteach it, which prolongs the learning process. It may encourage cheating on multiple levels. Good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good homework is amazing you need it so you wont become a spastic retarded donky.

Uuse homework as a guide to your older life, people trust me you need it. If you dont do your homework you wont be good at things such as math, if you dont do well at math then you wont get a degree and you wont get a job. You will become a cashier at a till at checkers earning 30 rand a month well people who did do there homework will be earning R1 a month well you are serving cristiano ronaldo.

    Bottoms up when i first met you couldnt get enough. I like nigwards dongus and bread donguses taste great and thtas my opinion on hOmEwOrK and yeah yeye sis nenvjdsbjbvksdvsojvhibwihbwbhwbvhbv, Bdkhbsvkjb2rulbgjkvbjksdbvksdkkwb d fdf df d f d f a f a f s fad f f ad f df d f d f a fa f a f d fad f d.

As a 6th grade student who only gets math now mostly I still get alot of homework. It stresses me out and the math is too hard for me to understand because i can't foucuse and my medician won't work in the blink of an eye. Not to mention i have a 5 month old puppy who jumps and bites so thats always fun.

But it also takes away from the rest of the Students day that they could spend together doing somthing nice. And the fact that we get home work over vactaion most of the time were i live other than the summer is just flat out stupid in my opinion. I fight my parents not to do my homework thats how stressful it is.

And every monday a trainer my family knows who traind our other dog who died comes at night and we kill two birds with one stone by trainingtwo dogs but then i have the stressof my home work.

I'm a 10th grade high school student and My teachers give Me allot of homework, Sometimes to much homework which I start getting frustrated and anxious to the point where I just don't do or I stay up all night rushing to finish it not getting any sleep at all! I don't have enough time to do homework and other things I really really want to do. I can not do what I love to do which is go outside and that is really really frustrating.

I want to be able to have some time to myself and homework really limits that. There are no strong correlations between homework and success in the classroom. All of the arguments for homework generally stem from its past, Where it has been more successful today. Today's student has to put up with more than just homework. Also, In many schools, There are multiple studies that point to homework for being the main cause of stress. Home work can be stressful because if you can't do its just going to build up and cause a lot of things.

One examplse is that they isolate themselfs to get it done. Another thingthey do it they just won't ever get much sleep. Also while some kids are playing games out side other people are inside and trying to rush through their stacks and stacks of homework. So Overall i would say that homework makes people isolate themselfs from their family and freinds. Homework is ruining family time I have and is creating many arguments. Students are so scheduled between school, sports, musical instruments, and other extracurricular activities and chores.

Taking away one thing such as homework can free the students to be kids again. It can give them an extra one to three hours to play and be free.

They already spend so much time studying and learning new information; they should have the opportunity to leave their work behind for the day and relax. When kids hit sixth grade and beyond, they will once again have homework. From age 5 to 10, they need to focus on being kids, growing their creativity, and learning through play!
